Panorama of Lower Gulkana Glacier, Alaska
Photo composite by R. March on July 23, 1992
The panorama view covers approximately 180° from northeast
to east to south to southwest as seen from the location of survey monument Downdraft which
appears in the lower center of the panorama. White photo control panel (1 meter wide
tyvek cloth) in the shape of a "V" is in place at the monument. Numerous small
rocks sit on the tyvek to hold it in place. This is one of 10 similar photo control panel
placed at survey monuments throughout the glacier basin to control the vertical air
photography obtained in 1993. Survey monuments (Péwé, Downdraft, Blinded, and Slim),
measurement site A, the meteorology station, and the stream-gaging station are identified
in the panorama.
When first opened the panorama view is to the southwest.
Click the mouse on the image and drag it to the left to pan to the left; vice versa
to pan right.
