U.S. Geological Survey Reports on Water Resources in Alaska 1950 to the Present, Listed by Location

These pages include reports published from 1950 to the present by Geological Survey authors on the water resources of Alaska. The most recent report was added to the list in October, 2003.

The pages are organized by location or category. For the purposes of this report, Alaska has been divided into six geographic sections:

  • (Yukon River, area north of Alaska Range and south of Brooks Range to Canadian border)
  • (Fairbanks, Tanana River basin, Healy area)
• South-Central
  • (Mat-Su, Copper River, Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak, Cook Inlet)
• Southeast
  • (from Haines to Wrangell)

Most of the information in this list was  published in U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 96-335, "Location Maps and List of U.S. Geological Survey Reports on Water Resources in Alaska, 1950 to 1995," by Elisabeth F. Snyder. The publication includes maps showing the locations of the reports cited. This website is an ongoing update of that report.
