Publication of Alaskan Glacier Data Sets

Location: South-central Alaska

Purpose:

(1) Gather a long-term, high-quality, internally consistent data series in the mountain-glacier environment. (2) Develop and apply standard data analysis and reporting techniques, and systematically release internally consistent data through a series of USGS publications. (3) Interpret and publish the climatic-glacier relations found for the study glaciers in journal articles. (4) Evaluate methods for extending climate-glacier relational analysis to regional and global scales. (5) Publish all the historical data from Wolverine, Gulkana, Black Rapids, Columbia, Knik, Redoubt Volcano, and Spurr Volcano Glaciers in Alaska, and the unpublished data from Maclure Glacier, California.
